The chick resisted. Clung. Until the shell cracked\u2014not out of force, but from life\u2019s growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the other side was light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wobbly at first, it stood.
Then looked around.

It never missed the shell again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
